Vulpine Tarot - Ace of Swords by Mabon-Tail Vulpine Tarot - Ace of Swords by Mabon-Tail

Here it is, everyone! The final Ace, completed for all to see! I initially tried using an earlier sketch, but the pose was so bland that I couldn't even force myself to finish inking it... So, I tried fooling around with DAZ 3D, a freeware 3D modeling application, and it turned out great! That program is pretty much my digital wooden mannequin.

Pardon any weirdness here, so if you're squeamish, feel free to skip this paragraph. Anyway, I remember a rather old journal I wrote a while back, pondering on whether or not I should include full nudity in my deck, particularly as it applies to its skyclad males. Obviously in this card and Love [link] , having the males' genitalia exposed was pretty much unavoidable, so I've ultimately decided to stop going to extensive measures to hide male nudity, but I've laid down some rules for myself in that respect for my deck. No visible erections, no visible testicles, and no erotic poses. So, the most you'll see out of any nude males is a penile sheath, in at most, about five cards. Besides, the results of my decision looks more natural than the Ken Doll look; in fact, it ultimately helps to reinforce the male foxes' masculinity.

Now that that's out of the way, here's some info on the card itself! :meow:

The Ace of Swords signifies the raw powers of fire, or to be more precise, the creative powers of force, will, or action. This card can signify newfound courage, initiative, or an opportunity to act.

Behind our Rueppell's Fox (Vulpes rueppellii) is a nebula in the shape of an upright triangle, which is the alchemical symbol for fire. In Pagan circles, Fire is most often set in the South. Most decks associate Swords to Air, and Wands to Fire, but my deck is different. Here, the Swords are set to Fire, and the Wands to Air. This leads our fox to face south.

Rueppell's Foxes most often live in areas ranging from North Africa to the Middle East. At adulthood, a Rueppell's Fox is just under 2 feet long from nose to tail, and scarcely weigh 4 lbs. Since they live in the desert, Rueppell's Foxes have large ears to keep cool, which can make them look similar to Fennec Foxes.

Made on a 17" MacBook Pro with DAZ 3D (for the model posing and sword), Illustrator CS3 (for the line work and card frame), Photoshop CS3 Extended (for everything else), and a Wacom Intuos3 6x11 tablet.

You know, it is nude art like this, that quite frankly I have no problems with. It is the porno cap seen on FA and even on DA occasionally that is what bothers me. I turned off my mature blocker on FA to view the page of an Artist that I though was clean. Was I mistaken, after suffering a near lethal dose of radioactive porn.
But As i Have found out by living in a military barracks many people of this young generation are quite addicted to porno shit. It really pissed me off, when one person asked me, can one of my females stick their own tail in their,.. well i wont say the last word, but you know what I mean. that pissed me off so much, and it felt like a grave insult to my artwork. There are regular people in my barracks who have asked me to draw them furry porn.
I am trying to learn to draw a few of my male canine characters similar to what you have here. But considering how some have reacted to my other artwork, what would they say seeing this.
